SDI KIT  (SilT  DENSITY  INDEX)

Suspended  solids  and  colloidal  materials  in  feed  water  are  one  of  the  biggest  problems  in  reverse  osmosis  systems. Even  though  most  systems  have  some  pretreatment  including  5 microns  pre  filters, these  fine  particles  are  responsible  for  fouling  of  reverse  osmosis  membranes.
In  order  to  have  some  measure  of  the  degree  of  this  fouling  problems, a  concept  called  silt  density  index  is  used. Here  a  0.45microns  filter  is  exposed  to  the  feed  water  under  pressure  and  filtration  rates  are  calculated . A  detailed  description  of  the  test  is  available  in  our  operating  manual.

INSTALLATIONS

  • Provide  ¼”  BSP  male  threaded   nozzle  at  the  location  where  the  SDI  has  to  be  measured.
  • Screw  the  needle  valve  to  the  nozzle.
  • Connect  the  kit  at  the  quick  release  coupling. The  installation  is  now  complete.
  • Disconnect  the  kit  and  keep  in  the  box.
 
   

hardness TEST KIT

FEATURES

MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE


INSTRUCTIONS

  • Take 50ml of water which is to be tested in a sample bottle. (The bottle has the marking of 50ml.)
  • Add 3 drops of reagent "a".
  • Add 2 drops of reagent "b".
  • The sample turns violet.

For Raw water

  • Add reagent "h" drop till the sample turns blue & count the no. of drops added.
  • Total raw water hardness in ppm=no. of dropsx25.

For Soft water

  • Add reagent "s" drop till the sample turns blue and count the no. of drops added.
  • Total soft water hardness in ppm=no.of drops
    original colour==>turns to==>blue.
    (if soft water hardness is less than or equal to 5ppm the water can be used for your process)
